Accessibility

What we've done

• Every page works with a keyboard alone. The first link on each page skips to the main content, and you can always see where you are.
• Pages have clear headings, and every link, button and form field has a name screen readers read out.
• Photos that show something important have a text description.
• Text has strong colour contrast, and links within text are underlined, so they don't rely on colour alone.
• You can enlarge text to 200% without anything being cut off or the page scrolling sideways.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, moving effects are switched off. The reviews only move on their own on larger screens, and they have a Pause button.
• Forms list anything that needs fixing at the top and next to each field.
• Buttons and links are large enough to tap easily on a phone.

How we check

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We check every page with automated tests (axe and Google Lighthouse) and by hand: using only a keyboard, with text enlarged to 200%, and at phone, tablet and computer screen sizes. Automated tests can't catch everything, so we're always glad to hear what could work better.

Things we know about

• Some links open other organisations' websites, such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, the NDIS Commission and the National Relay Service. We can't control how accessible those sites are.
• The referral information pack on our Referrals page is a PDF. If it doesn't work well with your device or software, contact us and we'll help.
